Photo 52 : Within the Frame / Color Theory – Achromatic Color Scheme

Welcome to week 33 of Photo 52: Within the Frame.  This week we continue our month-long study of color as we play with achromatic colors. By definition, achromatic means, “free from, or without color.”

An achromatic color scheme is one without color. Any color scheme that possesses no hue is said to be achromatic; these color schemes often involve black and white, with various values of gray.  While these dogwood flowers on their own would have been sufficient for this week’s assignment, I ended up converting this image to black and white to downplay the blue sky that was peeking through in the background.
